European Aquatics Will Hand Out Almost Half-a-Million Euros in Prize Money at European Championships

2026 European Swimming Championships

Almost half-a-million Euros are up for grabs across the two weeks of the European Aquatics Championships in Paris, with top three finishers across disciplines winning prize money.

In pool swimming, the breakdown is this:

Individual Events:

  • 1st: €2,000
  • 2nd: €1,500
  • 3rd: €1,000
  • Individual World Record: €10,000
  • Individual European Record: €5,000

Relays:

  • 1st: €3,500
  • 2nd: €3,000
  • 3rd: €2,500

With 38 individual swimming events and nine relays on the schedule in pool swimming, that means €252,000 (USD $291,305) is up for grabs before record bonuses.

Pool swimming will run for seven days at the Paris Aquatic Centre, which was built for non-pool swimming events at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

At the most recent European Championship meet in December in short course meters, prize money was awarded based on swimmers’ best performances but not based on individual event placement. No prize money was publicized at the most recent European Aquatics Championships (with long course swimming) in 2024.
