Greta Myers from Avondale Estates, Georgia, is verbally committed to the admission process* at Princeton University for 2027-28. She wrote to SwimSwam:

Myers is a senior at Westminster School in Atlanta. She swims year-round with SwimAtlanta and is a Summer Nationals qualifier in the 100/200 fly, a U.S. Open qualifier in the 50 fly, a Summer Juniors qualifier in the 200 free, and a Winter Juniors qualifier in the 100/500 free and 400 IM. We named her a “Best of the Rest” butterflyer on our latest list of top girls’ swimming recruits from the high school class of 2027.
At 2025 Winter Juniors East, Myers competed in the 100/200 free and 100/200 fly. She finaled in both 200s, placing 18th and 16th, with PBs of 1:48.36 and 1:59.22 in the respective events. Two months later, at the Georgia High School 4A State Championships, she won the 500 free with a PB of 4:52.92, and was runner-up in the 200 free (1:49.21). She also notched a lifetime best in the 100 free (50.83) leading off the 400 free relay in prelims. In finals, she anchored with 49.80.
Myers won the 200 free and 200 fly, was runner-up in the 50/100 free and 100 fly, and placed 4th in the 200 IM at SwimAtlanta’s Best of the South meet in March. She finished the meet with new times in the 50 free (23.34), 100 free (50.63), 200 free (1:47.83), 100 fly (53.95), and 200 IM (2:04.03).
This summer, she updated her LCM times in the 100/200/400 free, 50/100 back, 50/100/200 fly, and 200/400 IM. She wrapped the season at Summer Junior Nationals, where she competed in the 50/100/200 free and 50/100/200 fly, finaling in the 200 free and all 3 butterfly events.
Myers will join “Honorable Mention” Isabel Wu, “Best of the Rest” recruits Isabella Muir and Nora McCarthy, diver Mira Wiegman, and swimmers Annabel Townsend, Claire Cheung, and Dylan Liu at Princeton next fall.
Her times would have scored at the 2026 Ivy League Women’s Championships in the ‘A’ final of the 200 fly (in which the Tigers had 4 of the 8 lanes), the ‘B’ finals of the 100 fly and 200 free, and the ‘C’ finals of the 100 free and 400 IM. She would have only missed the ‘A’ finals in the 100 fly and 200 free by half a second or less (it took 53.67 / 1:47.30, respectively, to make top 8).

*Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office has that authority. The coach can only commit his or her support in the admission process. Ivy League Admission Offices do not issue “Likely Letters” before October 1 of the prospective student-athlete’s senior year of high school. The Likely Letter, while issued after an initial read of the student’s application, is not an offer of admission to the university.
