Winter Juniors Qualifier Isaac Yeung Announces Verbal Commitment To Army For Fall 2027

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Winter Juniors qualifier Isaac Yeung has announced his verbal commitment to swim and study at Army West Point beginning in the fall of 2027. He publicized the news in an email to SwimSwam, writing:

I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at West Point! I would like to express my gratitude to all my friends, family, and coaches for their support and guidance through this journey. Finally, I would like to give my thanks to Coach Hannah, Ryan, and the rest of the staff at West Point for entrusting me with this amazing opportunity. Go Army–Beat Navy!

A rising senior at Bellevue High School in Washington, Yeung has been a member of the school’s varsity swimming team since his freshman year. He also currently trains year-round with , where he primarily specializes in middle-distance freestyle and the 200 butterfly.

Yeung is coming off a 2025-26 short course season that saw him drop three and a half seconds in the 500 free, a second and a half in the 200 fly, and just under a second in both the 200 free and 1650 free.

On the club scene, Yeung competed at Winter Juniors – West for the first time in December, helping Bellevue to 18th in the 400 medley relay (50.86 fly split) and individually placing 51st in the 1000 free (9:37.36), 62nd in the 200 fly (1:50.57), 87th in the 500 free (4:34.26), and 94th in the 200 free (1:41.29), with his 200 fly and 200 free marking new lifetime bests. He closed out the short course season at the PN BC Premier Invitational at the end of March, where he set personal bests in the 500 free (4:29.74) and 1650 free (15:41.89).

At the high school level, Yeung had his best-ever showing at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) 3A State Championships in February, upgrading from fourth to second in the 500 free (4:35.05) and repeating his bronze medal finish in the 200 free (1:42.16).

Top SCY Times:

  • 200 Freestyle: 1:41.29
  • 500 Freestyle: 4:29.74
  • 1650 Freestyle: 15:41.89
  • 200 Butterfly: 1:50.57

A Division I Mid-Major program, Army competes in the Patriot League, with the men’s team taking second at this past season’s conference championship. Yeung’s career bests would have placed 12th in the 1650 free timed final and made the ‘C’ finals of the 200 fly and 500 free, already putting him in position to be an immediate contributor with two full seasons of training still ahead before his first conference meet. Times of 45.64 and 1:40.76 were needed to earn second swims in the 100 and 200 free, respectively.

Yeung joins Kohlston Katz, Kyle Tsuei, Robbie Doolittle, Luke Hamon, Beau Joens, Hamilton Gates, and Christian Shenk in verbally committing to the Black Knights’ class of 2031.
