It’s a golden day for fans of KPop Demon Hunters.
The record-breaking animated feature is officially getting a sequel, Netflix confirmed March 12, giving fans a new chapter in the HUNTR/X saga. Not only that but writer-director duo Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans are once again at the helm.
“I feel immense pride as a Korean filmmaker that the audience wants more from this Korean story and our Korean characters,” Maggie told Netflix’s Tudum in an interview published March 12. “There’s so much more to this world we have built, and I’m excited to show you. This is only the beginning.”
Chris added, “These characters are like family to us, their world has become our second home. We’re excited to write their next chapter, challenge them, and watch them evolve—and continue pushing the boundaries of how music, animation, and story can come together.”
Although Netflix did not reveal when the sequel would be premiering on their streaming platform, they’d previously shared that the first film had amassed over 500 million views since its June 2025 debut.
